The end of year external performance exam for VCE Music Performance is worth 50% of your entire study score.
But what does a good performance in this setting look like? How do I know what ‘good’ is? What are the examiners looking for?
The VCE Music Performance playing exam is unique in that you already know the ‘questions’ walking into the exam, you just need to provide the ‘answers’. Unlike other exams and subjects though, it’s really tricky to know what to expect in a VCE Music Performance exam. Yes, we can read back through the examiners’ reports but that doesn’t tell us a lot about the ‘answers’. Yes, we can go and see Top Class at the start of the year – but those people have been practicing that one song specifically for Top Class for months.
In this masterclass we will have a variety of instruments take part in a workshop where they will perform something from their repertoire to then have feedback given from some experienced VCE Music Teachers.
