Meet Manny Cassiotis…

Manny not only works at Earth Ed and delivers our Biology VCE masterclasses, he now has a newly discovered organism named after him!

After many expeditions with the botany staff at The University of Melbourne, Manny discovered a new genus of heterokonts, a cellular sea dwelling microscopic organism never before documented. It’s only know location in the world is in one place on the south coast of NSW.

In recognition of his efforts and commitment to scientific research the team named the new organism after Manny – Psammochrysis Cassiotisii. 👏

Ideas for a common name welcome!
