Work as an analytical chemist in monitoring water quality. Use gravimetric analysis, UV-Vis Spectroscopy and Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) to analyze water.

Program updates to come in line with the new study design for 2023.

Water is the most important substance on earth for living things.  Contaminants can affect the water quality which can then affect the living things that depend on that water source.

Students explore different analytical techniques used to analyse water quality such as gravimetric analysis, UV Spectroscopy and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy for such contaminants and determine the concentration of certain solutes.
