In this hands-on rock exploration, students investigate interesting properties of rocks such as crystal formation, colour, fluorescence and texture. Students are introduced to geological change over time and invited to sort a selection of mystery rocks into the categories of igneous, sedimentary or metamorphic. Students are invited to participate in a classroom discussion about the importance of rocks, the stories they tell and how they are used to create the many comforts of modern life (even within the classroom!).
What if you had the legs like a cassowary? What if you could camouflage like a cuttlefish? Let your imagination go wild in this biological exploration of animal adaptations.
