As earthquake explorers, students will explore ‘virtually’ what causes earthquakes and be challenged to work as engineers to survive the ‘great quake’ and as geologists to determine the best site to build on the island of Terra Felix.

Earthquakes can leave behind incredible devastation, while also creating some of the planet’s most magnificent formations.
In Years 5 and 6 of the Victorian Curriculum, students explore how sudden geological changes or extreme weather conditions can affect Earth’s surface.
This resource has been prepared to assist teachers and students to:
